Newbury Jumping Jelly Beans: "Be Cool in the Sun" The Jumping Jelly Beans, a group of students from the Newbury Elementary School known for their keen jump rope prowess, is being featured at many local shows and programs throughout the region with an amazing amount of energy and finesse jumping over and around swinging and spinning ropes . More than half the kids at the school jump rope and now there are 60 children in the club, with a special travel club selected for area shows. The kids come up with most of the routines and they all enjoy practicing their jump rope skills on a regular basis at the school.
The school received a grant to assist them in sending out this message to the area about sun safety and their slogan "Be Cool In The Sun", which promotes the message that kids must know that too much sun is not good for them.
